Sad pale eyes

She is sitting by her window
With two sad pale eyes.
Counting days and nights
For happy times.
Her heart has gone far away
Where jasmines flare
Her brothers working in the fields
Hard labour turns pearls of salty sweats.
Sister doing household chores
Feeding husbands and children.
Old mother remembers her innocent face
She stitches the hand made kantha.
While the father and his heavy heart
Lying in the bed, with limbs that cannot move.
All yearn for each other,
And the sad pale eyes work.
Far away from home,
Sleeps on a cold floor
A thin sheet spread on her tired body
They live on her hard earn money.
